As you will be aware European air travel has been thrown in to chaos due to the ash cloud from the Icelandic volcano.
For those travellers presently in France I have just watched a TV news item of the chief executive of the NZ Insurance Council being interviewed on the crisis. He stated that all travellers with travel insurance will have their costs of this inconvenience covered. The amount of each individual cover will depend on the specific policy each of you have. I had spoken to a client near Nice yesterday and he was worried that his costs would not be covered as this event was “an act of God”. Thanks to these comments from the Insurance Council you can now be rest assured that all will be covered (dependent on your policy).
Please try and make the best of a bad situation. Bonne chance!
