My Favourite Provence House/Villa Rentals:
Having a holiday in Provence for me conjures up picturesque villages, bright blue skies, markets and fresh food. Over the summer months from May through until the end of September you always know what the weather will be like – warm and beautiful!! So what better way to experience this by staying in a home for a week or two on your next holiday!? Here is a small selection of some of my favourites:
This house is absolutely charming with garden, set in the heart of the small picturesque village of Venasque, only 35 minutes from Avignon. Sleeps 5 pers with three bedrooms. Has lovely countryside views, perched on the edge of a cliff, and a one minute walk to the bakery!
I am including this house because it is very affordable for up to 6 pers, and for 2 pers we can offer a special attractive price! It is very well finished, and has some very charming attributes. Situated in the heart of the village of Venasque, you are well located for touring.
This is a four star home in a lovely village near Carpentras (Vaucluse). Beautiful fixtures in this two bedroom, two bathroom home with an attractive swimming pool and outdoor terrace under vines. A blissful address for a perfect holiday! In Caromb there are some bars, supermarkets and a few restaurants.
Chez Nicole, St Remy de Provence
This is a two bedroom home situated 1km from the centre of the idyllic village of St Remy de Provence (just to the south of Avignon). Uninterrupted views from the terrace by the pool over olive trees to the mountain range to the south, the Alpilles. Two bedrooms – but possible to sleep five pers.
This is your quintessential Provencale farmhouse. Lovely grounds and swimming pool, with pool house, olive trees, and just on the outskirts of the local village of Caromb (Vaucluse). Three bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, but can rent additional bedroom for four couples of large family! Mont Ventoux is just behind you for those mad-keen cyclists in your group!

[…] Provence […]
Hi John,
I’ve been following your blog and it’s been very helpful. I just thought I would leave a quick comment about a discovery I made recently in Provence – Chateau La Coste.
The domain seems to be producing a new range of interesting wines, but also there is now a huge new project of Art & Architecture on the domain. There are various routes to walk around the domain to see all the different sculptures and is actually as enjoyable as a way to see the great Provencal countryside. So far, Frank Gehry has completed an out door music venue, Tadao Ando has completed a bookshop/cafe/reception building and Jean Nouvel has designed their chai.
